About Us

The Islāmic Academy of Barbados, also known as the IAB, was established to facilitate a greater understanding and awareness of the teachings of Islām. It aims to educate people from all walks of life especially young Muslims, in all aspects of their religious development. Since its inception in 1998 (with the inaugural du’ā by Shaykh Hajī Muhammad Faruk Sahib ramatullahī alyh), the IAB excelled in academics and religious revival under the patronage and guidance of the renowned Shaykh-al-Hadīth Haḍrat Mawlānā Muhammad Saleem Dhorat Saḥib dāmatbarakātahūm of UK. Over the years IAB has grown to be a recognised Institute.

To achieve its aims the IAB provides a multifaceted service catering for the diverse and unique needs of Muslims living in the west. Throughout the years, the IAB has targeted its activities primarily at the Muslim youth, through its various initiatives. The IAB strive to help bring about the true awareness in Muslims.

With the unique infrastructure and strategic approach IAB presents a range of projects working tirelessly to produce such individuals who can become the assets for society. Publications, public forums, special meetings along with youth camps, counselling and series of educational sessions for people of all ages are all part of the IAB’s endeavours.
